What is your connection to the world of school libraries?
I am a high school librarian. In my former life I was a corporate librarian/researcher. I used to work for a management consulting firm. Now I teach research to teenagers. Everyday is a new experience. Life is good.

I recently attended a workshop titled "Library as Learning Commons" which was sponsored by the SWBOCES. The speaker was Valerie Diggs from Chelmsford High School outside of Boston. Welcome--and WLA conference

Hi Letty! Thanks for joining me here! You're my first friend in the social networking sense! I thought it would be a good place to share some thoughts, expand my learning network, learn about social networking first-hand, and learn about the Ning software to boot.

I'm not going to attend the Westchester Library Association conference this year. I was thinking about it, but I didn't have the $ left in my budget and I thought the SLMS conference would be $ better spent since it is devoted to school library topics rather than public libraries. Not that the topics at WLA didn't sound great! Please share what you think/learn from it!

Also, I'd love to learn more about the meeting at BOCES you attended last week on the library as Learning Commons... I ran into Bob Brewster at SLMS 2010 and he said he'd met you there and that it was a good workshop.
